I am alive, if only barely, but alive.

So much to do, so little time, but stumble across a great letter on Twitter of all places and wanted to share a passage from it. The letter is from Kurt Vonnegut and responded to English students who were supposed to write a letter to a famous author as part of an assignment.

Practice any art, music, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays, reportage, no matter how well or badly, not to get money and fame, but to experience becoming, to find out what’s inside you, to make your soul grow.

Don’t start chasing applause and acclaim. That way lies madness.

Do it for you to find out what’s really inside you.
