Footnotes

The contest, site, and potential book have no affiliation with Colson Whitehead or Penguin Random House.

a = Definitions in the Dorveille Section come from Websters.com and Wikipedia

2 = Quotes taken from an article written in the NY Times by Jesse Barron. Link

3= National Acclaim is used jokingly. There is a hope this will contest will take off and spawn an awesome collection of short stories that will be snapped up by a publisher and made into a published book. However that is currently the goal and certainly not a guarantee.

Thank

I would like to thank Colson Whitehead for crafting a fantastic book, Adobe Stock for providing the images (all licensed through CC and Adobe Stock).
Webflow for providing the platform for the site.
Tyler Hugley and Eurecah for creating a great template to build the site with.

And my wife and kiddo for allowing me to create cool things like this and not asking why.

Notes

* = In order for the prizes to be paid, we must receive enough submissions to warrant a fair and complete competition. We hope critical mass to be about 50 stories, but could honor the prizes for less if the quality warrants it.

** = The Dorveille Vignettes is the working title of the anthology of the submitted short stories, as well as hopefully a few featured stories from published authors. The book is currently being shopped to publishers, however if they do not purchase it, it will be self-published. We will discuss royalties with winners and other accepted stories.
